West Wickham Library and Housing Development

This project is the innovative redevelopment of West Wickham Library into a modern state of the art community facility which also included the construction of 26 new build affordable flats in the old library car park. The new extended library provides access to books and information, and also provide a variety of IT resources, with dedicated spaces for public PCs and laptop stations. Above all, it is a community space: the library extension provides additional community services with a new event gallery, a new cafe, a maker space, a business lounge for co-working, a community space for hire and a new outdoor classroom.

The library car park has been redeveloped as a social rental housing scheme of 26 flats for the London Borough of Bromley. The housing scheme consisted of 12 flats built into a mews style development with gardens and roof terraces, and 14 flats in a more traditional apartment block with balconies.

The scheme was granted Planning Approval in Spring 2022 and completed in 2025.
